QUARTER HORSE RACING ASSOCIATION OF INDIANA, INC.
The Purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to further one?s skills or advance his/her education by attending an accredited institution or a certified educational program.
The QHRAI Scholarship Committee will choose the recipient(s) of this scholarship. The selection shall be based on goals of the applicant, financial need, scholastic record and/or service in the armed forces (if applicable).
The Scholarship Committee shall give preference to those who are current members of QHRAI, minimum of one year, or whose family members (mother, father, brother, sister, grandparents) are members of QHRAI, minimum of one year.
The scholarship shall be used for a college, university, business school, vocational school, professional training program or any accredited course of study.
The Scholarship Committee will disperse the awarded money to the institution the recipient will attend. The amount of the scholarship will be Five Hundred Dollars ($500).
ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS
1. Applicant must hold an accredited state diploma.,
2. Class rank specification is NOT required.
3. The applicant must be a United States of America citizen.
4. College bound applicant: SAT, ACT, PSAT or equivalent is required.
5. Should the scholarship be awarded to a college student vocational student or any other type of student the Scholarship Committee deems appropriate, the applicant must submit a transcript of grades and his/her present status from the institution or program to which they are attending.
6. Applicants may reapply for this scholarship.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
1. The applications will be available from the following: A. Quarter Horse Racing Association of Indiana Board of Directors. B. Quarter Horse Racing Association of Indiana web - www.qtrhrai.com
2. The applicant must submit a packet containing the following material by November 1. of current year. A. Completed Application (1) Parent date (2) Financial data (3) Employment data (4) Activities, Awards and Volunteer data (5) Hand-written essay on how the scholarship would help to fulfill one's goal.
3. FAFSA Form or Tax Form from most recent filing.
4. High School transcript of College or other school, a transcript of grades.
5. Two letters of recommendation.
6. Recent photograph (for publicity purposes after awarded).
